May is ALS Awareness Month. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive, fatal, neurodegenerative disorder. The sunflower symbolizes ALS Awareness because it stands tall and strong, ever hopeful and ever reaching higher. Sunflowers grow in clusters and support each other as they grow, just as family, friends and community offer support to those who live with ALS.
How can you help?
Throughout May make a donation to ALS foundation at our front desk (at least $1.00 please) and we will hang a sunflower in our lobby to show your support.
Let’s fill the walls!
